Thorn was born the youngest of two in a family of shifters. his older sister, Thoryn, is the most important person in his life. His family is an important part of a larger community of Shifters. His father, Thyrn, is a Ranger of legend amongst his tribe, defending his people against the onslaughts of hobgoblins that set up residence near the tribe. Like her father, Thoryn also became a Ranger and craved adventure. Before she became of age, she was hunting in the forrest and came across an orphaned Goliath by the name of Odessa. The 2 became great friends. The tribe elder entrusted Odessa to the Shadowclaw family. Now Thorn had 2 older sisters, whom he adored and looked up to. Thorn followed his mother’s footsteps and devoted his worships to Sehanine as an avenger in her name. The day finally came when Thoryn was ready to leave the viallge in search of adventure. she left the tribe, much to Thorn and Odessa’s protest, with another member of the tribe, the mysterious Brimstone Soultorcher. Thorn threw himself into his disciple by studying and training most of his days. The only true joy left in his life, besides his training, was the regular letters he recieved form Thoryn. eventually the letters stopped. The last letter he obtained was from a very distraught Thoryn. She was warning him that Brimstone had taken an unnatural interest in Thorn. She had not mentioned the reason for the interest only that Thorn should run if ever Brimstone came looking for him. Obviously this did not sit to well with Thorn, with never have “running” from anything in his life, but the tone fear in the letter from his sister convinced him that he was running for himself but for his sister. afterall Thoryn was the only one who could reason with the stubborn avenger. A trait that was inheirited by his other “sister” Odessa. Shes the only other person Thorn really listens to. One of the last places mentioned in Thoryn’s letters was the outpost near Fallcrest. Fearing some horrible fate befell Thoryn, Thorn requested that he may go in search of his lost sister. The request was out of respect for the Elder, he was going with or without permision. Much to Thorn surprise and secretly his hopes, Odessa was to accompany him on his quest. The Elder felt that she would keep him out of trouble and hopefully find some clue to the whereabouts to her own tribe. The two adventures set on their way to the outpost. thus begining their adventure.
